How to make a house plan (naksha) online — free

Planning a home usually starts with a simple question: how do the rooms fit on the plot? With CivilOS you can turn your plot size and a few preferences into a scaled conceptual floor plan — with doors, windows, ventilators and furniture — in about a minute, and export it as a professional PDF drawing sheet or an AutoCAD DXF file.

What you need

Steps

  1. Open the Conceptual Plan Studio.
  2. Enter your plot size and choose the road side.
  3. Set bedrooms, kitchens, toilets and any special rooms; mark the open sides (no neighbour) so windows are placed there for light and air.
  4. Optionally describe anything unique about your home.
  5. Click Generate concept. A scaled plan appears with a central circulation corridor, parking and entrance on the road side, and rooms opening off the passage.
  6. Export an A4–A1 PDF drawing sheet (with title block, room schedule and notes) or an AutoCAD DXF.
CivilOS produces a conceptual layout to help you think and communicate — it is not a construction drawing. A licensed architect and structural engineer must produce the approved drawings, structural design and statutory (municipal) compliance before any construction.

It works in English, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil, and in both metric and imperial units — so you can share a clear plan with your family, contractor or architect and iterate quickly.
